Volume2 (Volume Squared) is an advanced volume setting tool for Windows PCs.
Volume control on Windows computers is, frankly, kind of a mess. While there's plenty to like about the way that Windows handles sound, the way it handles volume has far too much to do with your hardware set-up to get anything done. You might have to control sound through the icon on the task bar, through your keyboard, or even through a physical knob on your speakers. If you're frustrated with Windows sound control in general, you'll probably want to stop and take a look at Volume Squared.
Volume Squared is a complete overhaul of how Windows controls sound volume. Replacing your default control scheme, it gives you the ability to control your sound via keyboard shortcut or through mouse-wheel scroll. You also get access to a few other tools, like an on-screen volume panel, a sound mixer, and even a sound scheduler. This is the kind of program that can be used to really take control of the sound on your machine. While there's a few flaws in the execution, this is still a much better product than what ships with Windows. If you want a change, this is where you should start.
This is a program for people with a issues concerning how Windows handles sound. Must users, therefore, won't get much out of it. If you do start using the program, though, it will be hard for you to go back to anything else. If you want more control over the volume on your system, you owe it to yourself to download Volume Squared.
